FAQs

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Each event has a dress code to keep things festive! For the welcome party, think Smart Casual (a nice outfit for a dinner out). The wedding itself is Festive Formal—bring out the colors and fun prints! For the Sunday brunch and canal cruise, it’s all about comfort, so wear whatever floats your boat. Amsterdam in June can be unpredictable, so pack a light jacket or shawl and maybe an umbrella just in case!

Question

Do I need a passport or visa?

Answer

Yes, you’ll need a valid passport for travel to the Netherlands. No visa is necessary if you’re traveling from the U.S., but make sure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates.

Question

What’s the best way to get around Amsterdam?

Answer

Amsterdam’s public transit system is reliable and easy to use, with trams, buses, and trains connecting all major parts of the city. You can also easily walk or bike around, especially in the city center. Ubers and taxis are also available for a (somewhat) quick and comfortable option.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Amsterdam’s city center is compact and easy to navigate, so you can stay almost anywhere and still be close by! For the closest experience, look for places in the Centrum district, specifically the Grachtengordel (Canal Belt), De Wallen, or Plantage neighborhoods.

Question

Are there any planned group activities?

Answer

Yes! We’ll kick things off with a welcome party on June 13, the ceremony and reception on June 14, and then a relaxed Sunday brunch and canal cruise on June 15. Full details are on the Schedule tab.

Question

Will transportation be provided to and from the wedding events?

Answer

We’re not arranging specific transportation for events, but Amsterdam’s local transit is convenient and well-connected. Trams, buses, and even Ubers can get you where you need to go. More details on how to get to each venue are in the 'Schedule' tab.

Question

What are some must-see places in Amsterdam?

Answer

Amsterdam has something for everyone! Explore the beautiful canals, visit world-famous museums like the Rijksmuseum or Van Gogh Museum, and check out local treasures like vintage shops and cozy cafes (Cheyenne's favorites!). And if you're curious about Andrew’s Amsterdam favorites…you’ll have to ask him in person ;) Head to the 'Things To Do' tab to get some ideas!

Question

What’s the weather typically like in June?

Answer

Amsterdam in June is usually mild, with temperatures between 60-70°F (15-21°C), but rain is always a possibility. Pack layers, bring a light jacket, and maybe an umbrella just in case, so you’re prepared for anything!

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We’re so excited to celebrate with our adult friends and family this time around, so the weekend will be adults-only. Think of it as a mini vacation for yourself :)

Question

Will there be a gift registry?

Answer

Just having you in Amsterdam with us is the best gift we could ask for! But if you’d like to contribute something extra, we’ve set up a few special funds on our registry page to help support our future adventures (and a treat fund that Bloo snuck in). The link is under the 'Registry' tab.
