Allyssa Stevenson

Matron of Honor

Allyssa and I have so many mutual friends and similar circles we run around in; I like to joke that we were destined to become friends, and it was just a matter of time before we did. I had just graduated from MBU and was entering a new season of life. Our friendship finally sparked right when I needed it to and as luck would have it, I moved into a new apartment right next door to the Stevensons. So for the next year, our life was literally playing out like the tv show Friends. From planning other couples' weddings to hosting late night hangs at her home, Allyssa has the most loving spirit. I cannot imagine my life let alone our wedding day being absent of her.

Drew Morris

Best Man

Drew has literally been there since day one for me. Beyond being the best brother, Drew has been everything from a teammate, mentor, role model, and best friend my entire life. At each milestone we’ve reached, the other one has been there. From trips to state tennis tournaments to high school and college (and grad school) graduations to career progressions, we’ve been there. There is no one more loyal or kind, and while having Cheyenne standing across from me is the most important part of our day, having Drew next to me is a close second. The other men standing with me are some of my favorite people, but it would honestly be incomplete if Drew wasn’t my best man.

Rebecca McAuley

Bridesmaid

Rebecca and I met our first day at MBU. I walked into a classroom and saw her sitting at a table by herself in a cute outfit and working intensely on her laptop. Knowing no one else in the room, I knew I liked this girl's style and work ethic, so I sat down next to her, introduced myself, and four years later we found ourselves standing at the top of Machu Picchu living out the dream we both had as revealed to each other that first day of class. I'm so grateful for the adventures I've gotten to live through with this girl and beyond blessed to have her stand by my side as I begin a new adventure. Te amo mucho, Chica!

Dylan Walker

Groomsman

Dylan and I met when he was a 17-year-old freshman at MBU, and he’s grown to be one of my closest friends and favorite teammates I’ve ever had. My senior year of tennis was one of my best years of my tennis career, and Dylan played a major role on and off the court. From hanging out on trips to his clutch conference tournament wins over Missouri Valley and Baker, Dylan was invaluable in helping end my tennis career on a high note. Post MBU, I always look forward to his trips to Columbia to visit Rachel, because hanging with them is one of the few ways to get me out of my office or apartment. Dylan and Cheyenne arrived at MBU as part of the same class and hit it off from the start, and it means so much to both of us to have Dylan a part of our day.

Paige Slinkard

Bridesmaid

Paige and I go back to the 4th grade bonding over the show Kenan and Kel and ultimately who loves orange soda more (if you know, you know). One day Paige invited me to her church, and I now look back on that day as a cornerstone that shaped the rest of my life. A friendship was built over the years based on musical interests, writing comics, church functions, and me just showing up to her house unannounced just because I needed some Paige time. Paige is the most wholesome, artistic, and unique person and unapologetically herself. To know Paige is to love Paige, and I'm here for all the brightness she'll bring on our wedding day.

Conner Stevenson

Groomsman

Conner and I met when I transferred to MBU my freshman year. Early on, we were paired together in the doubles lineup and he quickly became one of my first friends on my new team. With all of our fun doubles formations and communication, I’ve never had so much fun losing on the court (I still defend his volleys and say they are better than everyone else thinks). The next year, our friendship certainly developed during road trips to Kirksville when he’d visit Allyssa. Since then, I’ve seen him grow from Cole’s brother to the title of Allyssa’s husband. He and Allyssa’s relationship has been an enormous positive and support in Cheyenne’s and my life and we’re so grateful both of them are standing with us on our day.

Emily Brown

Bridesmaid

My senior year of high school our tennis team was destroyed by Lutheran South High School in Sectionals trying to get to the State Championships. The girl from LS on the court next to me crushing my teammate had quite the rally squad cheering her on. At the time I thought it was a bit obnoxious, but two years later, that girl became my college tennis teammate and that rally squad was now backing *our team* and I loved every. single. minute. of. it! Emily was not just my teammate, but my birthday buddy, suite mate, workout buddy, and my best girl all rolled into one. I'm so ready to watch her cry tears of joy on our wedding day. ;)

Cole Stevenson

Groomsman

Cole and I met when I first transferred to MBU. Halfway through my sophomore year, Cole became our head coach and spent two and a half years changing the team culture. Winning our conference tournament was one of the highlights of my tennis career, and it wouldn’t have been possible without his leadership. Beyond the court, Cole has been the nucleus for our friend group, a mentor for me, helped me move on from Josh Rosen to Kyler Murray, and so much more. He was one of the first people to know when I started to plan my proposal to Cheyenne and he’s been one of the most invested people in this stage of our lives. Being a groomsman is just the latest in a series of hats he’s worn in my life, and our wedding day wouldn’t be the same without him.

Emilee Pierce

Bridesmaid

Emilee and I suffered together everyday at cross country and track practices for years - to the point that in the middle of a workout we'd be brainstorming ways we could "accidentally" get injured in order to sit out and rest for the day (we never went through with the ideas, but they were humorous and helped pass the time). One day I up and decided to quit running competitively, and I'd be lying if I didn't say I was worried our friendship would fizzle away, but I'm so thankful it obviously didn't! No matter how much time passes between seeing one another, it's as if no time has passed at all once we're reunited. I'm stoked she gets to be a part of the day we dreamed about since we were young girls.

Sam Gilliam

Groomsman

Sam and I met as graduate assistants at TCU and spent our second year in Texas as roommates. When I asked Sam to be a groomsman, I told him that despite spending less time with Cheyenne than some of the other groomsmen, he probably knew our relationship as well as anyone. While Cheyenne and I were apart as she focused on school and her career, Sam was the one who I confided in. Night after night in the TCU cafeteria, Sam listened to my pity party and was a huge support. When I told him that Cheyenne and I got back together, he couldn’t have been happier for us. Sam was the best roommate, but is an even better friend. His relationship with his wife Megan is an inspiration, and I hope Cheyenne and I can emulate what they have. Cheyenne and I are grateful to have them as a part of our day.

Madi Gamblin

Bridesmaid

Madi and I met in the 5th grade when the two elementary schools of our school district merged together. We were outsiders to each other, but quickly became the best of friends when our class seating assignments put us on the same island. Throughout the rest of middle and high school, I frequently visited the McCord Mansion for movie nights, bonfires, pool parties, and weekend sleepovers. Madi was the first of my friends to get married and have a baby and it was such a joy to stand by her side on her wedding day and then hold Miss Lainey at the hospital the day she was born. I feel so blessed to have such a friend to grow up and experience big life moments with. I can't wait to have Madi now stand alongside me on my wedding day.

Zach Duda

Groomsman

Zach and I were roommates in TN when I took an internship at Milligan College and hit it off instantly. Sports talk and Madden dominated in our apartment, and each time Cheyenne came to visit, he was super welcoming. Often times, I found myself third wheeling to them; they could talk for hours. Even after my time at Milligan ended, Zach and I have stayed in touch and continue to play Madden together. Every time we play, Zach and I talk on speakerphone so we can trash talk. It always makes me laugh when I can hear his two young children on his lap doing their part to help. He won’t use them as an excuse, but I find that they distract him juuust enough so I can win. Zach has been one of my most consistent and loyal friends over the years and it means the world to have him a part of our day.

Haley Grueber

Bridesmaid

Haley and I became acquainted with one another once I joined the tennis team at MBU my freshman year. We became inseparable after spending the evening at an Iron and Wine concert under unforeseen circumstances. Dinner dates in the cafe. Late night ice cream runs. Tennis trip roomies. Naps in her dorm. Jam sessions to T-Swift in her car and at her concert. Tandem bike rides. Hometown tours. The list just goes on and on. Haley and I became exactly what the other needed in a friend as I navigated my first year in college and she prepared to graduate, and we've kept that momentum to this day. I have countless memories and very funny stories with this girl, and I'm excited to add the memory of her standing with me on my wedding day to that list.

David Steinmeyer

Groomsman

David is my cousin, but he's always been so much more than that. He's one of the most driven, intelligent, and (most importantly) Christ-centered individuals I’ve ever known; we’ve always had a strong bond. From palling around at family get-togethers to working together at the Jefferson City Country Club for a summer, we’ve always had a good time. It was an honor to stand by him on his wedding day to Amanda, and I’m honored to have him with me on my wedding day to Cheyenne.
