Amanda and Mason met on the second day of Mason's internship at Edelman Public Relations. His teammate was supposed to train him on coverage reporting but was out of town that day. So, Amanda stepped in to help. Mason thought, "Damn, she's really pretty. She must have a boyfriend. I don't stand a chance." Amanda had similar thoughts. Though she was single and thought he was absolutely dashing, she was happy being independent and told herself she wouldn't get tied down in a relationship again till she could see it going the distance (i.e. marriage, kids, mortgage, the whole thing) with somebody. That definitely wasn't going to happen with the cute intern. Except, they kept finding things they had in common like: -Seasonal names (Summers + Winters) -Went to community college for their AA -Transferred to Western Washington University for their BA -Graduated with a degree in print journalism -Ended up in PR/Marketing -Same naming structure in their Gmail addresses -Wore white Richard Sherman jerseys to work -Lived in Sammamish at some point Despite doing their best to keep each other at arms length, it went downhill fast when they were overcome with holiday cheer and the morning coffee runs at the office turned into happy hour after work and weekend wine dates. On New Years Eve, 2014, Amanda told Mason he should be her boyfriend. He said no. On New Years Day, 2015, Mason asked Amanda to be his girlfriend. She said yes.
