You guys can find many places to explore and restaurants to eat at here: https://www.ristonchi.com/thingstodo The castle does have a restaurant onsite which is only open when arranged in advance. Let us know if you guys want to order from here and we'll be sure to set it up. The nearby towns Pelago (10 Minute drive) and Pontassieve (20 minute drive) have grocery stores and restaurants. Nearest restaurant is Villa Grassina (5 min drive or 15 min walk).

What is the WIFI like at the castle?

Yes, our updated network consist of 6 ubiquity AP and delivers speed of 30/3Mb. There is wifi in the common areas and outside as well as in most apartments. Some apartments with very thick stone walls do not reach the wifi. There is no wifi limit.

What is the wedding day dress code?

Cocktail formal! Ladies: All dresses are preferably floor length. We'll be on the wedding lawn so tall stilettos might be hard to walk in. Gentlemen: No jeans.

Absolutely! Ristonchi Castle is on top of a mountain surrounded by olive groves and an ancient forest with over 20km of marked paths for walking and cycling.

Birra Moretti, white and red wine, and two mixed drinks! We've chosen Mojitos and Dark n Stormies =P

What is there to see around the castle?

Florence is 30km away, less than an hour drive. 'The Mall' the luxury designer outlet is a 20 minute drive. Vallombrosa Abbey is a marvelous piece of architecture and an oasis of peace surrounded by beautiful forest nature - also a 20 minute drive. There is a winery and vineyard for wine tastings and a tour less than 10 minutes drive (Jon & Jess will be here at 1PM on May 1st, 2020. Let us know if you want to join!!) There's also a beautiful golf course with restaurant that's a 30 minutes drive away. The castle also offers at additional costs, activities like horseback riding tours, guided foraging walks, cooking classes etc. Hiking is free and abundant trails surround the castle. Mountain bikes are available for rent. My bridesmaid, Meki, will be doing a yoga morning class as well on Friday after breakfast.
