FAQs

We are still in the early stages of planning but here are a few FAQs. If you have other questions text Cheryl at 303-718-9189.
Question

What to wear?

Answer

The vibe is Semi-Formal. Wear what makes you feel the most alive! October in Aptos is often called "Local Summer" and is one of the most beautiful times of the year. You can expect sunny, clear skies with daytime highs around 73°F. However, evenings are crisp and temperatures can drop to the low 50s. Since we will be outdoors, please dress in layers and bring a light jacket or pashmina to stay comfortable after the sun goes down. A Note on Footwear Please choose your shoes with the outdoor setting in mind (stilettos might be a challenge on the terrain!). Jim and I will be celebrating barefoot, and we want you to be just as comfortable.

Question

Where to stay?

Answer

We are currently finalizing a list of recommended hotels and local gems, which we will add here soon. In the meantime, if you prefer an Airbnb or VRBO over a hotel, we recommend looking for stay in Aptos or Santa Cruz. Both areas offer beautiful coastal vibes and are a short drive from the venue. Please note that the family will be staying on-site at the property. A few things to consider while booking: Book Early: October is "Local Summer" in the Monterey Bay area, and accommodations can fill up quickly even in the "off-season." Aptos vs. Santa Cruz: Aptos is closer and tends to be a bit quieter and more residential. Santa Cruz offers more of a bustling boardwalk and downtown scene if you are looking for more nightlife. Capitola: This is a charming seaside village nestled right between Aptos and Santa Cruz—it's another fantastic option for rentals or boutique hotels. Transport: If you aren't planning to rent a car, Ride-share services (Uber/Lyft) are available in the area, though they can take a little longer to arrive than in a major city.

Question

What is happening Friday evening?

Answer

On Friday evening, we’ll host a small blessing ceremony followed by a light dinner. It’s a beautiful chance to gather and connect with the other amazing people in our lives. If you know me (Cheryl here!), you know I can't resist a few "get-to-know-you" games to break the ice!

Question

What is the gate code to enter Braveheart?

Answer

There are two gates to the property. Please enter through the first gate and use the code 0001#. Sometimes the navigation apps take you to the second gate so be on the look out. Note: To keep the celebration private, please do not share this code with anyone outside of our guest list. Once inside, drive straight back and follow the signs toward The Center.

Question

Is there parking?

Answer

Yes, there is plenty of on-site parking available at the property.

Question

Spa at Braveheart?

Answer

Why yes there is! Hot Tub, Cold Plunge and Sauna The hot tub, cold plunge and sauna are available at The Spa behind the bunkhouse. Please place towels on the benches where you sit or lay in the sauna. The sauna needs about 45 minutes to warm up and you can add water to the rocks to create more steam.

Question

Are you registered for gifts?

Answer

Your presence is the only gift we need! We do not have a registry and are not asking for gifts. (The "Registry" tab on this website is just a template feature we can't hide!)

Question

Food preferences and allergies?

Answer

We are planning on having a buffet style dinner but have not yet finalized the menu. If you have any important allergies for us to be aware of please text Cheryl at 303-718-9189.
