We’re getting married!

We first met in middle school, and became best friends during high school marching band, and were even able to travel to Canada together with the ensemble!

Between navigating our long distance relationship and road-tripping cross country to visit family, we have put in many hours in the car which have led to many karaoke jam sessions! The adventures and challenges of the past couple years have led to this amazing life that we get to share.

On Friday, February 3rd, 2017, I drove back from Augustana for my mom's birthday. Little did I know that the day before, David had picked up the ring he had designed and asked for my parents blessing. So when I got to the Hellyer house that evening, I was more than ready to get to Sante fe for dinner and couldn't understand why David kept stalling. The reason was that he had set up a video camera, and he couldn't get me to stay in the right spot to pop the question! But when he did, I was so surprised and excited and happy! I'm so glad you didn't hold on to that secret any longer, I love you so much David!

We found a house! And when everything became official in mid July, we started to make this house our own. After a week of demo, we began putting things back together, including refinishing floors, painting and replacing the entire kitchen. We are so blessed and grateful for the help we received from family and friends that made it possible for us to move in to our first home before the school year began! And of course we have to mention Luna! We have loved having this adorable puppy in our lives, and can't wait to continue training her and going hiking this summer.
