Like many couples in this modern day, we met on an online dating app: Bumble. On Bumble the woman makes the first move. Ever curious, Cheryl-Lyn saw a photo of Jason playing cards, and messaged him inquiring as to whether he was winning or losing the game. Jason quickly responded that he was winning, of course, and that same night, he secretly vowed to win Cheryl-Lyn's heart. After a few brief exchanges where Jason shared his love for competitive card games, in particular, the fun, yet divisive game, Spades, and Cheryl-Lyn challenged Jason to a match, the two decided to take the conversation offline. Soon after, they met for dinner and laughed for hours--so much so, that an elderly couple passing by commented on how much they had enjoyed watching Cheryl-Lyn and Jason interacting on their first date.

On the one year anniversary of our first date, we returned to the restaurant where we first met. Jason was visibly fidgety, but managed to keep it together. After a round of drinks, Jason suddenly got down on one knee and asked Cheryl-Lyn if she would be his Queen of Diamonds. And of course, Cheryl-Lyn said, "Yes."
