(Kyle's side) We had been itching to get out of Seattle for a weekend, and I had got the ring in a couple weeks before. I had picked out Gold Creek Pond trail as a beautiful spot, and snow was still on the ground. We got up to the trail and I was trying my best to act normal, but I don't have a poker face. The pond was frozen over, and I told Cheryl I would take some pictures of her looking off in the distance, while she turned around I got down on one knee. She turned back and I asked her to marry me. She said yes and we popped the bubbly! Jordan and Crissy Fostering were in on the plan and were hiding in the trees with champagne, ready to take pictures. Huge shout out to them for the effort and time and champagne, and waiting in the snow for us :)
