Scott and I met on an app called Hinge because during the COVID pandemic, that seemed to be the way to meet people nowadays lol. We had so much in common: both from Hawaii, love for food, laugh a lot, play the ukulele, sing, and we both we were ready for the next step in life. So Scott recommended to eat at a place called “Got Fish?” It was across from L&L and of course we went there as well. Scott introduced himself to me with a bouquet of flowers. I was so nervous that day that even when he complimented how beautiful I looked especially with the flower in my hair, I immediately took it down so he wouldn’t notice me lol. However, Scott made me feel like myself. We listened to island-style music for 4 hours! Neither of us were ready to go home, but it was getting late. We got icecream from Lookup Cafe and Scott kissed my forehead goodbye before we departed. I could not wait for our next date!
I had been planning the proposal for a long time and I knew I had to ask for permission. It was on the Virginia Beach oceanfront where I asked dad for CherRohne’s hand. We talked for a long time and he gave me his blessing. So the next step was the proposal. And I thought what better way to ask what I was grateful for than to show her. So I decided to propose on Thanksgiving Day. I WAS NERVOUS! And I started thinking what our love meant; what it meant to me and what it symbolized. I thought hard about it and I decided on hope. This was during the time I started buying lottery tickets. It's like us...because of the hope it brought me. I guess it’s like an addiction, but I just couldn't get enough of it. Just like my babe. It wasn't her fancy cars or house lol. It was her love that gave me hope.
