We met by chance at a Halloween party in college. Josh was dropping something off at his brother’s apartment - only staying for 10 minutes - when the neighbors invited them over to the party. I was at the party and reconnecting with a high school friend I hadn’t seen in years. I had dressed in a lame costume, but Josh had me beat as he had no costume at all. Josh and Seth performed their “twin telepathy” bit, and despite that Josh and I talked the rest of the night. On our first date, Josh took me out for pizza and asked what I wanted from the menu. I told him “I’ll have what you’re having!” because I couldn’t actually read the menu (I didn’t want to wear my glasses for our first date). We ate our pizza and talked for hours until the waitress asked us to leave at closing time. We followed up with a second date the next day at a Badger basketball game. We knew we had formed a special connection from the start and the rest is history!

After spending over two years with many flights between O’Hare and Laguardia while we were living long distance, Josh and I finally reunited and started our life together in Chicago. We were up for the challenge of incorporating his modern and my traditional style in our shared space. Once settled in Chicago, we were lucky enough to find our sweet, snuggly fur-baby, and we brought Luca (aka Mr. Huffypants) home to join our little family in July!

While on a road trip to visit Josh’s parents and ski in Vermont, Josh had plans to make this an extra special and memorable trip. He proposed in a beautiful setting on the mountain with the snow sparkling in the sunlight all around us and our favorite canine companion, Luca, by our sides. We had recently found our first home to own and were so excited to begin new adventures together planning our wedding and becoming homeowners that spring!

Now here we are, over 7 years in the making, and we are so excited for the next chapter in our story. We are grateful to have such loving family and friends to share these memories with, and look forward to celebrating with all on our big day!
