The story of Adam and I started a long time ago. When I first saw Adam in kindergarten I knew he was the one. Just kidding! We did attend elementary school together, where I have some vague memories of Adam sharing Hostess snacks with me. Several years later, when we were in high school together, Adam and I were crowned as Homecoming King and Queen. Shortly after, we went on our first date. With college quickly approaching, I decided that just being friends was the best direction. We kept in touch throughout college even with me in Omaha and Adam in Chadron. A few years later, when Adam had moved back to Omaha, his Dad ran into my mom. Embarrassingly, my mom was happy to tell Dave I was single. This got back to Adam and resulted in him sending me a text to catch up. It may have taken 9 years but we finally went on our second date!
Adam picked me up for our 2nd Anniversary dinner. During the drive, Adam gave me my gift which was a large pad lock. At first I was confused by this gift. But then I remembered I wanted to put a pad lock on a local bridge like they did in Paris. Adam always said no because it was, "stupid." This local bridge was special to us. It was the location where Adam first told me he loved me. So I was very excited about the lock! As I was waiting for him to hand me the key to secure the lock, I saw him kneel down and pull out a ring. He asked me to marry him and of course I said yes.
