Cherish and Josh first met in a dear friend’s house where they spent a season eating dinners, doing worship nights, and bible studies. After that season they fell out of touch for five years. Then, they happened to bump into each other at a ball in November of 2024 where they discovered that Cherish had started attending the Sunday gathering at Josh’s church a few weeks prior. They started chatting on Sundays and hanging out in group settings until Josh worked up the courage to ask Cherish on a date and thereafter talk to her father for his approval -scary! The following months were full of the adventure of growing in friendship, love, and sanctification. Josh quickly ascertained that he would never find a more lovable and beautiful woman inside and out than Cherish which spurred him to pursue and win her heart. When the season necessitated, he asked her father’s permission to propose -scary times 100! After much time of prayer and observing the continued growth of Josh and Cherish, Mr. Haruyama gave Josh his consent, the last step in the culmination of the electrifying, timeless moment that Josh got down on one knee and Cherish delightedly accepted. Which, brings us to the present. We invite you to witness our formation of a covenant before God. We are ineffably thankful to him for bringing us together by his sovereign hand and his purposed use of our marriage for the illumination of the gospel to his church and the world.
