It all began in August of 2016 at Michigan State University. Cherelle was in her final semester of undergrad, while Saul—studying mechanical engineering—was wrapping up his collegiate journey after recently returning from a study abroad program in Edinburgh, Scotland. At the time, Cherelle was taking a physiology course in the Engineering Building, which led her to a place she’d never been before: the NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers) Room to study with a friend. Saul, a regular in that space, happened to be there that day too. Their paths crossed when a mutual friend introduced them. They dove into a deep conversation that first day... and the rest, as they say, is history!
