Mike and I met freshman year at Lasell College, where we were both accounting majors. We ran into each other all the time, but nothing really happened until Senior Week. One night at Jose McIntyre’s in Boston, with music blasting, Mike surprised me with a kiss. I was so caught off guard that I ran away! Later, I tracked down his roommate and a mutual friend to figure out what was going on. That’s when I found out Mike had liked me all along but never told me. We started spending more time together that week, and everything just felt very comfortable. On June 7, 2013, Mike officially asked me to be his girlfriend, and the rest is history. It took us until the very end of college to figure it out, but it couldn’t have worked out better!
Our proposal happened during a whirlwind Christmas trip to Disney World. We had packed in all four parks in just three days, and by the last day, we were exhausted—caught in the rain the night before and running on backup clothes and socks (where Mike cleverly hid the ring). That night, after watching the show in front of the castle, we decided to squeeze in one last ride on the merry-go-round. As we walked toward the back of the castle, Mike suddenly got down on one knee and, with a nervous and shaky voice, asked, "Will you marry me?" I blurted out, "Now?! At Disney World? Yes!!" Luckily, a kind stranger nearby snapped some photos and shared them with us, making the moment even more magical.
