Florence Airport (FLR) is the closest option. If not, Pisa (PSA) and Rome (FCO) are great alternatives, and both have easy train connections into Florence. More details on the "Travel" page.

Question

How do I get to Florence once I arrive?

Answer

Florence is very walkable! From the airport or train station, taxis and ubers are easy to find and very straightforward. If you’re arriving by train, Santa Maria Novella (SMN) station is right in the heart of the city. Grand Hotel Baglioni is a 2-minute walk from the train station.

Question

Do you recommend certain areas or hotels?

Answer

If you decide to not stay at one of our suggested hotels. We recommend staying in Florence’s historic center so you’re close to the wedding events, great restaurants, and sightseeing.

Question

Should I rent a car?

Answer

We personally wouldn’t recommend it. Florence has limited parking and restricted driving zones, and getting around on foot or by taxi is much easier (and less stressful!).

Question

Will dietary restrictions be accommodated?

Answer

Absolutely! Please let us know any dietary needs when you RSVP, and we’ll make sure you’re well taken care of.

Question

What do I need to know about Italy?

Answer

- Italy uses the Euro (€). Credit cards are widely accepted (double check that your credit card doesn't charge a foreign transaction fee). - Tipping is not required. - Be prepared to walk around! There are a lot of cobblestone roads in Europe (aka not high heel friendly)
