John and Chenelle met in 2010 at Chenelle's monthly House music party "Lovehouse". Over time, through the music scene, they became casual acquaintances. During the Spring of 2013, they'd find themselves ending up at the same venues way more often than not. They'd later admit that they'd gone to those events hoping to see each other. They exchanged numbers and began dating. By Summer of 2013, John and Chenelle were inseparable. On Thanksgiving, 2015, at her family home with her whole family present, John proposed to Chenelle. Chenelle accepted.
