We wrote a more personal summary of our trip, however, we didn’t realize our website only allowed for 2,000 characters! Abridged version below, full version here: https://tinyurl.com/ChelseyandEric We celebrated our ten years together with an intimate ceremony at the Belmond Rio Sagrado in Peru's Sacred Valley, surrounded by stunning Andean landscapes. It was a day full of love and natural beauty. We experienced nine unforgettable days of exceptional hospitality, gastronomy, vibrant culture, and breathtaking views. Day 1: Lima We arrived in Lima at night, did some sightseeing, and prepared for an early flight to Cusco. Day 2: Cusco/Sacred Valley We reached Cusco with sunny skies and settled at Belmond Rio Sagrado. A dress malfunction had Chelsey wearing her backup dress, adding a funny twist to our preparation. Day 3: Sacred Valley Our wedding day was magical, with vows exchanged in a riverside garden. The staff surprised us with flowers and champagne, making it even more special. Day 4: Sacred Valley We enjoyed a private spa day and an alfresco lunch, joined by cute baby alpacas. Day 5: Sacred Valley/Urubamba We relaxed by the pool and had lunch at MIL, known for its local ingredients. We bought some unique items before heading to our Airbnb. Day 6: Machu Picchu An early train ride took us to the magnificent Machu Picchu. Eric even hiked Huayna Picchu. Day 7: Cusco We checked into a hotel in Cusco and explored the city's galleries, shops, and cafes. Three Monkeys gave us a memorable coffee experience thanks to Diego's off-menu items. Day 8: Cusco/Lima Back in Lima, we dined at Mayta, enjoying an innovative tasting menu by chef Jaime Pesaque. The food and service were a trip highlight. Day 9: Lima Our last day featured a flavorful lunch at Kjolle, showcasing chef Pía León's creativity with Peruvian ingredients. We visited museums in Barranco before departing for a late-night flight.
