Our story began at Sparkles skating rink in my hometown of Lawrenceville GA. Chandler had just moved to the area in October of 2011. For a couple months we would just meet at the rink and skate together. Our first date however, was a disaster. On Friday, January 13th 2012, we were meeting some of my friends to go ice skating and I wrecked my car on the way there. (We were both completely okay). It makes us laugh to look back on it now and we joke about it all the time. 

On Friday, January 13th 2017, my friend Sabrina picked me up from my house to accompany me for a pamper day set up by Chandler. We stopped for a quick breakfast before heading up to see my friend Sam, who is my maid of honor. She cut, washed and curled my hair and sent us off to the next destination. The next stop was a manicure and pedicure at one of my favorite salons. Our third stop was for dinner at Red and Green Steakhouse. Now that we are stuffed, we are heading to the ice forum (the same one Chandler and I tried to go to on our first date). Once I found out about going ice skating, I knew they were up to something. Sabrina NEVER skates and usually would refuse. As we are skating around, I am on edge the whole time, expecting Chandler to surprise me somehow. I see Samantha first.(She came along to capture the moment). Then I see Chandler skating out onto the floor. He handed me a single rose and then hugged me. As soon as the hug ended he got down on one knee and I LOST it! I had caught on to the surprise visit, but had no idea he was going to propose. On the same day, exactly 5 years later, we finally got to ice skate together. Friday the 13th happened to be the luckiest day of our lives.
