We met in 2014 while studying abroad in Ecuador! We shared so many incredible experiences, like exploring and studying in the capital city of Quito, white water rafting in Baños, spelunking in the Amazon, and celebrating Carnival in Montañita. We started dating a few months after arriving home in the US. After graduating from college in 2015, Sam moved to Denver, CO and Chelsea moved to Springfield, IL, but our relationship remained strong and we made sure to visit each other at least once a month! In 2017 we completed a month-long, cross-country road trip (check out some of our pics on the 'Gallery' page) before we both moved to Minnesota to live in the same state for the first time after 3 years of long-distance dating. While in Minneapolis, we lived in our first apartment together and adopted our first kitten, queen Gloria, followed by baby girl Hobbit a couple of years later. We moved to Chicago, IL in May of 2021 and got engaged a year later in Holland, MI. It has been an incredible journey and we can't wait to celebrate the next milestone with you on 9/9/23.
