In 2002, a shy boy of ten and a spunky girl of eleven both made their way up to Raymond, ME to spend seven weeks in paradise. Luke would be attending Camp Agawam, and Chelsea would be at Camp Wawenock. Agawam and Wawenock shared a special relationship, hosting two dances a summer where the campers could meet, socialize, and hopefully find their soul mates. As Chelsea prepared for her first Agawam dance, she dreamed of who she would dance the night away with. Sadly, Luke was too young to be invited to the dance, and Chelsea was unimpressed with the boys she had to choose from. 2003 came and went, and while Luke finally got to experience his first camp dance, Chelsea had matured enough to attend the older dance. 2004-2007 were surely the years they would meet, dance the night away, and fall in love. But alas, while Chelsea was busy trying to find the boy that would steal her heart, Luke was preoccupied by the dessert table. Chelsea and Luke attended camp for the same six camper summers, and while Luke’s cousin was Chelsea’s counselor, and Chelsea’s Agawam tennis partner was in Luke’s cabin, they never once met. The years went by without either knowing the other existed. Luke’s brother would join the Charter Club at Princeton, the same eating club that Chelsea’s brother was already a part of. Could Chelsea and Luke have been at the same Princeton events? They will never know. In 2015, Harry Potter trivia made its way to Boston, an event that surely caught the eye of two of the biggest Harry Potter fans out there. Luke, however, being the less dedicated fan, did not get tickets for the main event in time. While Chelsea was busy coming in fourth place in Boston, Luke had to settle for fourth place in Dorchester. The crossover between Luke’s and Chelsea’s lives is incredible. Chelsea’s grandmother and Luke’s great-grandmother even golfed at the same country club in New Jersey! Despite all of this, our “how we met story” ends as a true modern romance… We met online.
