Question

Was the Woodstock festival in Woodstock?

Answer

When the promoters couldn't find an appropriate venue in the town itself, they decided to hold the festival on a 600 acre dairy farm in Bethel, New York — about 50 miles from Woodstock. The name Woodstock came from the town of Woodstock, New York, where there was a community of artists and musicians who lived there — artists like Bob Dylan. Bethel is also where our cabin is located.
