Question

What are the most important things to know about traveling?

Answer

PASSPORTS are required to enter Mexico. They must be valid for at least 6 months past the day you return home. Please confirm that the name on your passport matches your airline ticket information. Bring all documents provided by the travel agent. FLIGHT: On your flight to Cancun you will need to complete 2 documents provided by the flight attendants. A visitor’s permit (1 per person) and a customs form (1 per family). Have a pen, your passport, and resort information readily available. ENTERING MEXICO: You will go through customs and immigrations at your point of entry into Mexico. If you have a connection in the United States before Mexico, you will go through customs at that location. Once you land in Mexico you will go through immigrations. Have your passport and customs form ready. You can go up as a family, they will ask you some questions and stamp your passport. A portion of the immigration form will be returned to you. DO NOT LOSE THIS FORM! There is a fee to replace it if you lose it. We suggest keeping it with your passport and lock them both in your safe at the resort. TRANSPORTATION: After immigrations, head to baggage claim and go through customs again. There is a chance you will be randomly selected for a luggage inspection. Once through customs, walk right past all the timeshare sellers; they are not your transportation (although, they may pretend to be). Head straight outside and look for your transfer by their company name or uniform. It’ll take about 30-45 minutes to get to the resort from the airport. The transfer company will want to meet with you at the resort to discuss departure pick-up time. Make sure to confirm your departure time from the resort the day before you are scheduled to leave the resort.
