Hello future children. Let me tell you the story of how I met your mother. It was my sophomore year at Maryland. I had been discussing going on birthright at the start of summer break. Who would say no to a free trip overseas? Needless to say, I was immediately excited to take part. However, I had no idea how much that trip was truly going to change my life. As soon as I walked into the Newark airport, there she was, the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. A light broke through the skylight directly on her. I swear it was the first time I had ever heard complete silence at an airport. All was blocked out except her. Who was she? Should I go talk to her? Being shy back then, I couldn't approach her right away. I got to my gate and all of a sudden a girl sits down right next me. It was her! As if fate had dropped her right next to me. She immediately sparks up a conversation as if she knew I was incapable of speaking first. There were fireworks! The connection was something I had never experienced before. We played off one another so well you would have thought we knew each other our whole lives. Our connection grew throughout the trip. Everyone assumed we were dating despite it being very platonic. After the trip was over, I feared I'd never see her again. Oh how wrong I'd be. We kept in touch, visiting each other. The bond survived the test of time. Eventually we both landed in NYC. We fell right back into old habits. As if a force outside our control kept drawing us back to one another. I had finally had it. I couldn't fight the feeling that our relationship was meant for more. Finally, I asked her out. And, she said yes! The rest was history. And that kids, is the story of how I met your mother- Chelsea!
