One of our favorite places to go on the weekend with a variety of restaurants, two local breweries, and a DORA (that means you can walk around outside with a beer), this mixed used area has been a staple of ours from our time living near Dublin. They have a farmers market Saturday morning that's a great place to walk around and grab some food and souvenirs.
One of our favorite food places downtown. A historic market that has been converted to a food hall with a variety of unique options. We highly recommended the Hoyo's Kitchen, which has some of the best Somalian food in Columbus. It is a favorite of both of ours and has the best chai tea as well as spectacular food.
An OSU staple. We've taken many trips here everything from morning donuts, a quick gyro at lunch, to the best late night mozzarella sticks in the city.
German Village in general is a cute place to walk around. The Book Loft is tucked into a pre Civil War house and its 32 rooms are filled floor to ceiling with books. A great experience for anyone who has not been consumed by ChatGPT and still reads books.
Columbus has one of the best craft beer scenes in the country, several great options are in walking distance of the hotel/venue. Jackie'os has 4 different bars with around 40 beers on tap and a fantastic outdoor space, especially on a summer evening. Right down the street is Wolf Ridge, another of our favorites. Head around the back alley (instead of the 4th street entrance) to find their taproom instead of the restaurant. We love their Daybreak and Hefeweizen; and if Rose is your bartender and you tell her you're in town for our wedding, she might give you discounted beer. A little closer to North Market is Barley's Brewing, we recommend the Bloodthirst Wheat Ale. The restaurant on the main floor features some fantastic bar snacks like saurkraut balls and reuben eggrolls, and upstairs is home to Brewcadia, a craft beer focused arcade bar.
