FAQs

Question

Where is the ceremony?

Answer

We plan on heading up to Tinkham Peak if the skies are clear of smoke. If not, we will stop at Mirror Lake and have our ceremony there. Tinkham Peak is 2.5 miles up with 1,800 ft gain and has a short steep section on rocks. If you’re at all uncomfortable, you can hang at Mirror Lake and relax. Mirror Lake is 1.5 miles up with 709 feet gain, very chill, highly recommend. AllTrails calls the hike Tinkham Peak via Mirror Lake Trailhead

Question

Are dogs allowed on the hike?

Answer

The hike is dog friendly, but there is a short rocky section. Gryphon did it no problem. Bring water

Question

Are dogs allowed at the campsite?

Answer

Well behaved pups can attend. We don't want dogs constantly barking, stealing unattended food and we don't want to break up any dog fights. If your pup hasn't met River yet, we ask that they stay home or you grab a separate campsite, in case of any issues.

Question

Speaking of the campsite…

Answer

We will be in a dispersed site, no cost but also no bathrooms. We’re aiming to claim the Lost Lake campsites that has a honey bucket! Worst case, there is a trailhead bathroom that you can drive to…. for #2

Question

Can I bring food? Drinks? Party items?

Answer

We plan on having some appetizers and snacks. With the fire ban, reminder you can only cook on a grill, no open flames. There will be a generous assortment of drinks (N/A and A) but please bring your own if you want something specific. If you bring stuff to party (you know what I mean) do it away from the group (or not at all), we have people in recovery in attendance and they're more important to us than your hobbies.

Question

Anything happening on Sunday?

Answer

We will have a leisurely pack up and head out. There are plenty of hikes around the area if you feel like sticking around to do your own thing.

Question

What happens if the weather sucks?

Answer

This has happened, thanks for your flexibility! Friday morning we will send final location notices! Our officiant is only in town for the weekend, so it may be a backyard wedding. Our yard fits plenty of tents, we can make it a big sleepover!
