Thank you for inquiring about this important subject. The answer is yes.
After conducting extensive research on emilypost.com, we determined that "dressy casual" best characterizes our vision for the dress code at the reception. However, being merciful hosts, we will not prohibit entry to underdressed attendees.
First, if you do not feel comfortable attending the reception, we absolutely understand. We expect 50-60 attendees, the vast majority of whom will be vaccinated. Tables will be set up outside, and most activities will take place outdoors or in our beautiful and well ventilated garage. We also plan on designing micro-climates in which you will only be in close proximity to a handful of others at a given time. Again, though, we understand if you are not able to attend due to Covid concerns, and we appreciate the support you will provide us from afar.
Please park in the Reed neighborhood in Portland, Oregon where our home is located. Our neighbors may stare bitterly at you through their blinds, but pay no attention to them.
We are asking that beloved animals stay at home if possible. There will be movement between the back yard and front yard throughout the event, which will make it difficult to ensure the safety of pets.
Nicholas Restaurant will be catering the event. Sandwiches, kababs, salads, and more will be provided to guests. Vegetarian and vegan options will be available, too. Cupcakes for dessert.
Chelsea and Matthew are still engaged in a healthy debate about the presence of toasts at the reception. Regardless of the outcome, beer, wine, and champagne will be provided. (We're not monsters!) Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available.
