Historic Downtown Wilmington Marketplace
If you choose to stay at our planned hotel -- Hotel Ballast (also near our wedding venue), you'll be right in the heart of downtown! Walk down 2nd and 3rd Streets to enjoy the historic homes. Hang out on Front Street for the main row of shopping and restaurants, and walk down to Water Street to enjoy the Riverwalk -- a perfect spot to enjoy the Sunset.

Carolina Beach State Park
We love the trails in this park! A great way to see the unique landscape of North Carolina (and great for couples, children, and dogs). Our favorite trails are the Sugarloaf and Swamp Trail (they kind of run into each other and hit a river beach area and overlook) and Snows Cut Trail that goes along the cliffs where the Cape Fear River meets the Atlantic Ocean.
