While we are not willing to delay our marriage any longer, it is also extremely important for us to keep all of our guests safe. For that reason, we have decided to have only immediate family attend our wedding ceremony and reception in person. For all of our family and friends that will be joining us virtually, please check back for a link to our ceremony live stream. We send our love and best wishes to everyone. Please stay healthy and safe. We look forward to celebrating with everyone sometime in the future.
Even though we grew up only a few miles apart, we didn't meet until we were both attending The Ohio State University (Go Bucks!) in Columbus. We were just friends for several years, until we both ended up back home in the summer of 2013. The verdict is still out on who originally pursued who... but we've been dating ever since!
We had planned a trip to Columbus in September to go to a comedy show and enjoy a football Saturday (so Chelsea thought), but John truly had many other plans. John kept insisting that we wake up early to walk around campus together. After walking around several different parts of campus, we ended up walking through the oval. As we made it to the end, John brought up an "Ohio State legend" that if you walk all the way from the north to south end of the oval, holding hands with the person you love it means that you are meant to be together forever. It was then that he got down on one knee and Chelsea of course said "YES!" followed by lots of happy tears. Immediately after this, all of Chelsea's sisters seemingly came out of no where to congratulate us. They had planned with John to be "hiding out" to take pictures of the whole thing. If that wasn't enough, after we returned to Chelsea's sister's apartment, both of our parents were there to surprise us and help us celebrate. It was truly a wonderful day filled with lots of love.
