Take a scenic drive up Little Cottonwood Canyon to Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort. There you can ride walk around, do some hiking or ride the tram to the very top of the mountain to get a 360 degree view of the beautiful Wasatch Mountains.
Hiking in Big Cottonwood Canyon is a great way to experience the beautiful Utah scenery and is only minutes away from the Hyatt Hotel. Use the AllTrails website or app to get directions to and a map of each trail. Couple Recommends: Lake Mary Trail - Great short hike to view wildflowers and occasional Moose. Extend this trail to include Lake Catherine or even Sunset Peak for the best view in the Wasatch. Bloods Lake Trail - Take a drive from SLC through scenic Big Cottonwood Canyon all the way to the very top of guardsman's pass. From there you will park and hike through Aspens to Bloods lake, a great spot to lounge by the lake and maybe see some moose. There is also a Bloods Lake Loop that has more lakes and miles. Lake Blanche Trail- For those that want a hard hike with views in every direction and will leave the lungs burning, Lake Blanche is perhaps the best trail in Big Cottonwood Canyon. Be warned this is a cardio heavy hike but is worth the view.
