Our Love Story

First comes paper then comes love

We met through work, Eddie came over to start up the Paper Mill that was brand new in town. We happened to meet one night at the bowling alley and shared a few drinks. A few days later we spoke at work and shared a few laughs, we became friends over the next few weeks. We became friends, sharing jokes and getting to know each other, without realizing how much we had in common and how close we were becoming. All too soon it was time for Eddie to return back to Australia, we realized then how much we cared for each other. We had a farewell party and said our farewells, thinking that we may never see each other again. Eddie went to another Pratt mill and we stayed in touch via phone, every single day. When he flew back to Australia, the flight was the longest time we hadn't spoken or texted. We continued to talk, to text and video chat. We both admitted that this had become more than friendship, that it had started to grow into something more. We managed to spend more time together in person, Eddie flew here in early 2020. We spent 3 amazing weeks together, no one else knew that we were together, we travelled and realized that this was really LOVE. Then the worst thing, we seperated again as Eddie went back to Australia, Such a hard farewell, knowing that we would be together again soon, or so we thought. Covid hit us then, well hit the world, and ruined the chance for us to be together in person again. We learnt new ways to spend time together, Netflix video call dates whenever the opportunity came. One day out of the blue, Eddie calls me a soon as I got out of work, he video chatted with me and proposed. Apologetically, he explained that he wanted to do it in person but the world wouldn't let us, yes he had asked for permission before the proposal,. We started to plan our wedding, even though we were a half a world apart. Planning our future, not truly knowing when we would be together again. Yet, knowing that the love we have will overcome any distance between us. Finally the world, well Australia, opened up and we were finally able to be together, we spent our first Christmas together in person. Our love shone through with our family around us over Christmas and we knew that the time apart wasn't that important, it was a stepping stone to where we are. Where we want to be, saying our vows will be tje best time for us both and we look forward to sharing that with you, out family, our friends.
