Long story short...single ladies, answer your DMs (direct messages)! Somehow I came across Chelsea's Instagram page and requested to follow her. After a few days of stalking her page, I slid in her DM and told her I was interested in getting to know her. (Have you seen my honey?! Do you blame me?) Two days later, she FINALLY responded. We spoke for quite some time before Chelsea agreed to meet me in person. We met at The Blue Crab and she just had to sit in the seat that faced the door. My mom taught me to be a gentleman so I gave up my seat, but I thought she was a lunatic. We ate, laughed, and danced the night away. From that day forward, I've been head over heels for my wife. The rest is history!
In September 2019, Dwayne started a new position. I was so proud of him that I decided to throw him a surprise party on our anniversary to celebrate his most recent acconplishment. My mom and I planned the party together and I was super excited when the day finally came! I was on pins and needles as we traveled to Hattiesburg. I love surprises! We walked in my parents house and I saw my friends and family that had come to celebrate Dwayne (none of his friends or family live near us). As they yelled surprise and congratulations, I looked up at him to see his reaction. He was smiling from ear to ear and my stomach had butterflies seeing how happy he looked. I turned to hug a friend and when I turn around I see Dwayne on one knee! “Wait a minute, what are you doing? What are you doing?!?!” is all I could say over and over. The love of my life asked me to marry him in the sweetest way. Of course I said yes! To add icing on the cake he also asked Laila (my daughter) if she would allow him to be her bonus dad. Yep, I lost it at this point. Tears flying everywhere! Just when I thought the moment couldn’t get any better, I turned around and saw one of my very best friends who lived in Florida. That’s when it hit me that they tricked me and the surprise party was actually our proposal/engagement party! I didn’t see that coming at all! When we walked outside there were candles everywhere and a video set up with pictures of us and congratulatory videos from our closest friends and family! It was truly a night to remember. Dwayne said he couldn’t have pulled it off without my mom and Courtney so thanks to each of you ladies!
