This is one of our favorite warm weather spots! There are a ton of grills for public use at Pier 5 and an awesome view of lower Manhattan. Grab some grillin' supplies, grab some meat, grab some friends, and grab some opaque cups to hide your booze.
Beautiful boathouse in Central Park. Grab a tea/hot chocolate (or glass of wine) and then head south through "The Mall", the tree-canopied walking street in the South part of the park.
One of the most beautiful buildings in New York - definitely worth checking out. Also, check out Bryant Park behind the library - one of Chelsea and Chris' early dates was a movie in Bryant Park.
One of the prettiest neighbourhoods in the city - grab a coffee and walk up Bleecker Street.
Saturday head to East River State Park and get some food + drinks from the largest, weekly open-air food market. Nothing healthy. BONUS: this park is where we got engaged!
Beautiful elevated greenspace/walking path on an old railroad track. Gorgeous views of the Hudson! Follow it up with a visit to Chelsea Market, the Meatpacking District, or drinks at the Standard Biergarten.
The memorial is beautiful (and very emotional). Also, check out the Oculus, the super modern shopping center - beautiful architectural design.
Have a drink on the rooftop and take in the view of lower Manhattan. It's gorgeous, but the drinks are pricey - you've been warned.
Another rooftop bar with incredible views (again, pricey drinks, but worth it for the view!).
Classic New York slice. Favourite of Chelsea and Maddie (MoH and sister of the Bride).
Split an Artichoke slice with someone. Super rich, but SO good.
Cool vibe and great cocktails. $7 happy hour until 7 every day.
Great coffee. Get the Black + Tan (Chelsea's fav).
There are several locations around the city. Meatball sliders. The end.
Incredible Moroccan food - amazing for dinner or brunch!
Don't leave without getting a New York bagel.
Awesome sushi and great, authentic atmosphere!
Speakeasy-style Mexican restaurant. Good cocktails and a different take on queso.
All the steak.
This is where Chelsea + Chris had their post-proposal engagement celebration (which was originally planned as a surprise party for Chris' birthday). Cool vibes. Great drinks.
If you're staying at The William Vale - or find yourself in Williamsburg - grab a coffee and a couple donuts. One of our fav weekend morning spots! Key Lime + Coffee Cake are Chelsea's favourites.
Cool indoor market with creative foods/coffee/tea etc. Great to pop in and take a break from walking around the city.
Outdoor park that was just built within the last year, same architect as the very popular Brooklyn Bridge Park. Side note - I saw Justin Bieber and now wife Hailey Bieber (Baldwin) walking here so who knows! Seriously though, grab a taco and sit by the water and take in the views of the Manhattan skyline.
If you enjoy shopping for records this is a gem, you can grab a coffee inside and tour the massive selection of records, books, etc. There is also a record store three blocks up the road called 'Earwax Records' which I find has cheaper records (but itsn't as cool)
Venezuelan street food (hot dogs, arepas, empanadas, sweet plaintains etc.) One of Chris and Chelsea's favorite restaurants for a quick bite.
Famous plaza which contains Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, NBC building, Top of the Rock (incredible views of NYC and Central Park) etc. It will be quite busy but worth stopping by and seeing it all.
