Blake and Chelsea met while looking at a home to rent with friends where they would’ve shared a bathrooom. (Thank goodness the home didn’t work out.) They ended up living about a half mile down the road from each other.

Chelsea asked Blake on their first date to an Iowa State basketball game. Yes, Chelsea was the one who asked Blake, and she doesn't let him forget that.

Blake had a few of Chelsea's friends take her out to dinner, and she suspected nothing out of the ordinary besides a Friday night with friends, drinks, and food. After dinner, one of her friends suggested going to the EMC Outlook since they wanted a cute picture together overlooking the downtown skyline. While driving up, Chelsea saw Blake standing there, and that's when she realized what was happening. If you ask either one of them, they couldn't tell you what was said other than that she said YES! Afterwards, Blake drove Chelsea around Des Moines to throw her off before driving to a nearby restaurant where he had a surprise celebration with family and friends.
