Alex and Chelsea met back in 2015. He was a sophomore at MacArthur High School and she was a Junior at Seaford High School. Their mutual friend, Daniella Derby, invited both her MacArthur High School friends and Temple B'nai Torah friends to stay at her lake house one weekend. She planned a fun-filled weekend of ziplining, board games, and campfires. This weekend's get-away, back in April of 2015, was where Alex and Chelsea officially met. As everyone arrived at the lake house and settled in, a game of baseball came about. This was where Alex said his first couple of words to Chelsea. Chelsea's shoe had flown off of her foot as she ran through the bases during the game. Alex noticed this and said "Hey I think your shoe fell off," as he caught it and gave it back to her. Later in the night, Alex sat next to Chelsea as everyone began to play some board and card games. Here is where their first real interactions occurred as Alex helped Chelsea win every game. The next day everyone went ziplining and Alex pretended he wasn't scared, even though he was, and went down every zipline with Chelsea by his side. At the end of the weekend, Alex asked Chelsea on their first date. Alex and Chelsea dated for a few weeks after that weekend. Every day after school both Alex and Chelsea would meet at the halfway point between her school and his house, 711, and Alex would carry Chelsea's books back to his house the rest of the way. During one of these "Dates" after school, Alex gained the courage to ask Chelsea to be his girlfriend to which Chelsea responded with "Ask me next week." A week went by and it is safe to say the rest is history. Since then Alex and Chelsea have been in love and by each other's side through both thick and thin. They enjoy being each other's biggest cheerleaders as they individually grow and flourish in both their careers and hobbies. Chelsea went to Penn State for undergraduate school to obtain two bachelor's degrees, while Alex went to St. Johns to obtain his bachelor's degree as well. The two made it work and would see each other as often as possible. The trust, love, and loyalty between Chelsea and Alex was infinite. Chelsea and Alex both graduated with their bachelor's and moved on to higher levels of education both on Long Island. Alex is now officially an esquire, passed his bar exam, and is working as a federal bankruptcy clerk. Chelsea is a fully Licensed Creative Arts Therapist working in private practice, a competitive figure skater, and a certified pilates reformer instructor. Although it has been almost 10 years, Chelsea and Alex's journey together is still only just starting as they will continue to nourish, support, trust, and love each other forever and always.
