Chelsea was a Cape Cod local when she met Alan. Working as a phlebotomist to save up enough money to move to Boston, she decided she'd visit the local watering hole with her girlfriends on a Tuesday night. This Tuesday at the Beachcomber was Reggae night. Turns out, Alan was on his annual family reunion trip to the Cape and its safe to say there are numerous Bob Marley fans in that Dagesse bunch. As fate would have it, he too (along with about 14 family members) checked out the Beachcomber. After bumping into Chelsea at the bar and exhausting a few cheesy pick up lines, Alan was determined to escape family drinking time...I mean bonding time...and get to know Chelsea. The obvious attraction between the tourist and the local led to phone number exchanges. Later that week, Alan convinced Chelsea to watch the sunset with him at First Encounter beach one night. Sparks flew and the two of them knew there was something special there. Alan returned to school in Atlanta to finish up his final year in college. Over that time Chelsea made her plans to move to Boston official by landing a job at Beth Isreal Hospital and soon after, Alan started his career with the FAA. It was as fate brought them back together. Once they were living in the same city again there was no keeping them apart.
If you know Chelsea you know she loves two things. Spooky things and the ocean. Her and Alan have a black cat that they rescued from Salem, MA and even named it after a character from the movie Hocus Pocus (Mr. Binx). After sitting on the ring Alan bought for Chelsea for a couple months, he finally saw the perfect timing to ask her to be his wife. After work one Friday, Alan and Chelsea muscled through Boston rush hour traffic to escape to Newport for the weekend as they had done countless times before. Trying to keep his cool and hide his sweaty hands, Alan drove Chelsea to the Sachuest Point Wildlife Refuge just in time for sunset. They hurried down the sand paths to a picturesque spot on the cliffs overlooking Newport and Second Beach. After taking in the beautiful view, Alan dropped to one knee and asked Chelsea that life changing phrase "Will you marry me?" And believe it or not, she said YES! Some question the luck of events that take place on a Friday the 13th, but from this day forward Alan and Chelsea will see this date and smile, as it was one of the luckiest days of their lives. The day they start their happily ever after.
