Our Story

It all started with two right swipes in 2017. From that moment on, we never looked back. You read that correct. In true millenial fashion, we first met after matching on Tinder. Jordan was living in Kenosha after graduating from Carthage College, while Chelsea was a few years out of UW-La Crosse and living her best early 20’s life in Milwaukee. What started as casual texts and Snapchats gradually turned into effortless conversations, even as Jordan moved to Chicago to begin grad school. Despite the distance and us both navigating post college adulthood, we kept talking—and things really started to take off when Chelsea visited Jordan on a whim one snowy weekend in February. She called off work, spent the entire weekend together with Jordan and his friends, and something just clicked. While our official “first meeting” had been in Kenosha, that February weekend in Chicago was when it all truly began. Digging a car out of a foot of snow in the streets of Chicago will really bring you together. A few months later, on St. Patrick’s Day weekend after meeting all of Chelsea’s friends for the first time (and maybe a few too many Irish Car Bombs) Jordan officially asked Chelsea out—though it took us about a month to admit we were actually dating. Over the next year, our long distance relationship continued to deepen, all while allowing us to grow independently and find our own personal paths as well. Rooted in trust and commitment, it all culminated on New Year’s Eve 2019, when we said “I love you” for the first time—and we meant it. After three years together, we packed up and moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin for Jordan to continue to pursue his passion for a career in tennis. (Yes, even though Jordan is not a fan of the cold, and swore to Chelsea early on he would never move anywhere further north.) It is here in Green Bay, that we have found not only a home but an amazing community and support system that truly makes Green Bay feel like home. We are endlessly grateful for this town and for everyone’s friendship and support. Next came the proposal. Jordan had it all planned out, a wintery New Year’s Eve, just the like the night we first said I love you. It happened up north, surrounded by snow, fireworks, and a perfect plan put together by our incredible friends Haley, Nick, Katelyn, and Allen. With “Love Story” by Taylor Swift playing in the background, champagne ready, and fireworks lighting up the lake, Jordan got down on one knee and asked Chelsea to marry him, proclaiming that he wanted to continue saying “I Love You” for the rest of our lives. It couldn’t have been more perfect. We could not share our story without including our quirky (and somewhat anti-social) fur baby Clare. Although she started out as Chelsea's emotional support cat while living in Milwaukee, she quickly claimed Jordan as her favorite, and Chelsea has become the spare human. While we are sad she cannot celebrate in person with us, she’s celebrating in her own way. Through our journey together, we’ve grown to share a love of tennis. What started as Chelsea driving Jordan to various Chicago suburbs so he could play USTA league matches, and her adamantly stating that she would never pick up the sport, has turned into not only embracing Jordan’s lifelong passion and career but becoming a fierce competitor herself. Now, after six years of dating and a year and a half of engagement, we’re so happy to be here celebrating this next chapter. It’s not the beginning of our story—it’s a beautiful milestone in a journey that continues to grow and we are so grateful to share it with you. With each other by our sides, we get to keep saying “I love you” for the rest our lives. We’re in it together—forever.
