How We Met

As told by Chelsea...

Our love story began in Dallas, back in July of 2017. “Summer Chelsea” is a lot more fun than “School Year Chelsea” and I was convinced to go meet up with some friends who were out for Sunday Funday. Coincidentally, Jordan was convinced to play wingman to a buddy who wanted to meet up with my friends. If you know the whole story then you know that Jordan had found himself in a bar that wasn’t his typical watering hole. A “one drink and I’m leaving” promise to his buddy was quickly forgotten... As the day turned into night, some flirtatious banter was exchanged and we went to another spot with friends. Jordan and I were dancing the night away and having fun. Little did I know, Jordan DOES NOT dance and this was all a ploy to attract my attention. A few hours passed and as I was saying my goodbyes, Jordan wasn’t ready for the night to end. He asked if he could take me to dinner right then... I accepted and we’ve been arguing over what to eat for dinner ever since!

The Proposal

As told by Jordan...

So I had finally picked up the ring. Shweew. I thought that was supposed to be the hardest part, right? No way. I would have never thought it would be so hard to figure out how to ask her the easiest question I would ever ask her. The very thing I had wanted to ask her since the day I met her. The 3 weeks I had the ring, while trying to figure out how to give it to her, was like carrying an elephant on my back. The day was January 19th. I had figured out a plan to propose to her outside. Problem was, the wind was blowing 25 mph, the temperature was like 35, and it was cold. Oh well, too late now, I couldn’t wait to be her fiancé. We walked through the George Bush Presidential Library. I was a nervous wreck. I don’t think I read a single exhibit. She had been several times before, and kept drawing my attention to all the cool facts and mementos. I was focused on the task at hand, and couldn’t walk through there fast enough. Finally, as we were about to leave, we walked through the courtyard to grab a coffee. I had the photographer setup, and ready for action. I didn’t have a speech prepared, just winged it. It's sill a blur to me, and likely her, but all I remember was the smile on her face, and the words will you marry me rolling off my tongue. It was a day I will never forget, and look forward to starting our life together in a few months. To be surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones will be a dream for us both. I love you, babe.
