How We Met

May 23, 2015

Back in 2015, Jarod and I were both interning at the Omni Orlando Resort at Championsgate in their recreation department. We met over a busy Memorial Day weekend and were assigned to man the "Pie in the Face" game on the pool deck. I did not know this at the time but apparently Jarod thought I was the most awkward human alive, while I was over here swooning over this new guy at work. We both weren't looking for anything serious, and were just getting to know each other more as friends and hanging out with other coworkers outside of work. That all changed when one night, all of our other coworkers bailed on an evening out so Jarod and I ended up hanging out one on one. After that night, it was apparent that we both had feelings for each other. Jarod was so mad because he came to Florida from North Carolina to have fun and ended up falling in love. I thought Jarod was going to take a long time to ask me to be his girlfriend but only a short 5.5 weeks later, I had him locked down...for life!

How He Proposed

September 17, 2021

During our 2 month road trip out west, we went on a camping trip to the Sawtooth Mountains near Stanley, ID. We were camping at the Chinook Campgroup on Little Redfish Lake. It was absolutely freezing during our first night there and we woke up with 17 degree weather. We also woke up to my car not starting. We had our camp neighbor try to jump it, but to no avail. We called AAA, and since we were in a remote location, they told us it would be hours and hours until they could get someone out to assist. Wanting to make the best of it, Jarod suggested we take a walk around Little Redfish Lake. He said the view was amazing and I had not seen it yet. We walked around a little makeshift trail admiring the beautiful mountains and cold but gorgeous weather. I noticed Jarod continued walking and standing behind me which was kind of weird and then out of the corner of my eye I see him get down on one knee behind me, where we told me "there was no one he would rather be stranded with" and asked me to marry him. It definitely made being stuck without a car so much better. AND after all this, the campground host was able to jump our car with a portable jumper! Jarod went to get a new battery in town while I stayed with Gizmo and came back with champagne and Sawtooth Mountains t shirts to commemorate where we got engaged ❤️
