The couple first met at a Halloween party at Cornell University many years ago, but neither of them quite remembers. While both Chelsea and Dan attended CU at the same time, their paths were destined to cross later in life. A few years after graduation, Chelsea took a job as a District Manager with the grocery store chain Aldi. Her territory was Syracuse, while Dan had the same job in Binghamton. After crushing on each other from afar, they finally kissed in the coat closet at a a company retreat, and the romance began. Chelsea asked Dan to bring his dog Esther on their first date, and soon after Dan and Esther moved to Syracuse (with Dan still commuting to Bing) and the three became inseparable. After a few years in Syracuse, they bought a house in Skaneateles, and added another dog to the family; Gunther. They've traveled the country and the world; eating, drinking and listening to so much live music. In the last year, amidst selling their Skaneatles house, both getting new jobs, and relocating to Saratoga, Dan proposed! The couple picked out the ring together (it's vintage, from 1954!) but Dan still successfully surprised Chels when he popped the question with their two dogs by his side, on the edge of Skaneatles Lake.
