As most of you know already, Chelsea and Mark grew up together in Orlando, FL. In 7th grade, Chelsea woo'd Mark when she walked into the cafeteria wearing a Met's jersey. After Mark asked Chelsea to be his girlfriend, they promptly sat as far away from each other as possible during lunch hours and only waved to each other in the hallways. As most 7th grade "relationships" would go, they broke up, only to rekindle their relationship in high school. The two started dating again in December their sophomore year. Fun fact: They were voted "cutest couple" their senior year! After 2.5 years of dating, Chelsea and Mark decided to pursue their own passions, with Chelsea attending the University of Florida (GO GATORS!) and Mark moving to Boca Raton to play baseball for Florida Atlantic University (hoot hoot!). After 4 (and a half, thanks to Chelsea) years of long distance, Mark moved up to Atlanta to work with his brother, Bryan. Chelsea decided enough was enough, and moved up to Atlanta to be with Mark. On the same day as Chelsea's first day of work in Atlanta, Mark was picked up by the Schaumburg Boomers and moved to Chicago to play baseball on a professional level; and so continued their long distance relationship. Another 3 years went by of Mark transferring to the San Francisco Giant's organization and back to Schaumburg to finish his baseball career; he finally put down his bat and glove and moved back to Atlanta... the rest is history!
In November 2018, Chelsea and Mark flew to southern California for a friends wedding (shout out Tony & Michelle!). They had decided to extend the trip to include a few vacation days in San Diego. Mark knew Chelsea would want to go to the San Diego Zoo and spend some time on the beach, so he also knew it would be the perfect time to *finally* pop the question. So the day began, and they spent the whole day at the zoo. On the way to dinner, they made a pit stop to Coronado Beach to see the sunset. Chelsea put her feet in the water, and Mark took the opportunity to get the ring ready for the proposal. When she came back to him, he pointed to the sunset, and as she turned away he got down on one knee. Needless to say, she said yes!
