HOW IT ALL STARTED & HOW ITS GOING

It was a cold Boston winter in early 2022 when Sara first heard about West Point’s 100th Night— a formal event celebrating the final 100 days before the cadets’ graduation. The idea of a weekend getaway and dressing up for a night out caught her interest, and after learning that her roommates were planning to go, Sara was determined to find her way in. Through some casual snooping (and a little help from mutual friends), Sara found out that Sean was still looking for a date. So, naturally, she volunteered herself to go with him, and Sean was more than happy to say "sure." That first weekend of February, Sara and her roommates, Becca and Lauren, bundled up and hit the road for the drive to New York. They arrived at a small Airbnb, where Sean and his friends — Gannon, Austin, and Matt — were ready to welcome them with flowers and a surprise Smirnoff Ice as they walked through the door... It was supposed to be just a weekend away from Boston… but somewhere between all of the shared laughter and miller lites, these two knew it wouldn't be their last time hanging out. As weekends do, this one had to come to an end. Sara returned to Boston, and Sean stayed behind. But after they parted ways, they never really stopped talking. What started as a few polite follow-up texts quickly turned into daily conversations and the making of a lot of future plans. Over the next few months, they fell into a routine. Every weekend they could, one of them made the trip — Sean driving up to Boston to spend time with Sara in the city, and Sara heading to West Point to watch Sean play rugby. Their weekends were filled with easy, comfortable time together — exploring each city and spending quality time with their friends before graduation. Although they claimed to be “just friends,” everyone else could see right through it. By April, it was clear— they weren’t just friends anymore. Though they hadn’t talked about it, Sean decided it was time to make it official. After a weekend spent together in New York, Sara dropped him off at school. As he got out of the car, Sean turned to her and said, “So, we’re dating, yeah?” Before Sara could reply, he slammed the door and walked away, leaving her speechless and surprised. Yeah, they were definitely dating. In short, over the last few years, these two have tackled long distance dating, they bought and moved into their first home together, Sara’s first dog, Charlie, joined them on their move to Tennessee, they adopted a second dog named Addie, survived many army trainings and time spent apart, moved to Kansas, and made many friends together along the way. Sean proposed December of 2024 in Boston by recreating their first official date. We can't wait to celebrate our marriage with all of the people who mean the most to us, we wouldn't be here without the love and support from you guys.
