What is a cocktail-style reception?

Answer

Our reception will feature food stations and drinks in a social, mingling-style setting with limited seating available. Guests are encouraged to move about and connect with others throughout the reception. Music will play continuously to create a relaxed celebration atmosphere. There will be no formal events such as a seated dinner service, first dance, or cake cutting. We just want to celebrate with you!

What time should I arrive?

Please plan to arrive promptly at 12:00 PM for our welcome reception. This helps us stay on schedule and ensures you don’t miss any part of the celebration.

Where should I park?

Answer

We strongly encourage guests to stay at nearby accommodations within walking distance of our venue, as parking is very limited. There is a small lot next to our venue, but you can also take advantage of street parking. If needed, parking may be available at the nearby convention center overflow lot.

Are kids welcome?

While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only event. We appreciate your understanding, and we look forward to celebrating with you.

What food will be served?

Answer

No dry chicken around here! In typical Alana and Damian style, we’ll be featuring our favorite barbecue restaurant, Prime BBQ.

Can I take pictures during the ceremony and reception?

Answer

We have hired an incredible photographer to capture special moments throughout our ceremony and reception. We kindly ask that guests refrain from using phones during key moments, and instead be present, enjoy the experience, and take the opportunity to mingle and celebrate with one another.

Your event ends at 4:00—then what?

Answer

From two introverts who carefully planned this early ending… we see you, and you’re welcome.The evening is yours. Pop into a nearby brewery or dive bar steps from our venue, make date-night dinner reservations at a local restaurant, or take part in the nearby Christmas festivities throughout downtown New Bern.
