In our wedding we are incorporating many traditions of the Philippians. Jeremiah was born and raised in this beautiful country and we want to honor it. The Principal Sponsors (aka Ninang and Ninong): These are couples whom the bride and groom respect & admire. They are sponsors of the couple attesting to their readiness for marriage and freedom to marry. Another aspect of a Filipino wedding is the coin bearer They are a representation of prosperity brought into the marriage. The exchange of the coins represents the groom's promise to provide for his family and the bride's trust in his ability to do so. The third aspect is a bible bearer. The young boy will be carrying a Bible that symbolizes the word of God in the couple's marriage.
