Welcome to our beginning.

Sarah and Austin met through a long line of people! Sarah's brother-in-law's (Ryan Gunsolus) best friend's (Michael Woodhead) brother's (Jacob Woodhead) close friend is Austin (I know it's confusing). They were ultimately set up by Ryan where Austin was invited to come spend the day with Sarah, her sister, Mandy, and her husband, Ryan. On July 3rd, they got to meet for the first time, go bowling together, and play a lot of games! The next day, July 4th, Austin texted Sarah and asked her on a date! She said YES!

The day of their first date, Austin drove all the way from San Diego to Bellflower to pick up Sarah. Austin was met at the door by Sarah's dad (awkward!), and Austin handled it very well. They went for brunch at Saint & Second in Long Beach then paddle boarding. Sarah was so nervous that she got very nauseous and was unable to eat, so she sat and watched as Austin ate his meal. During their paddle board excursion, they talked about many things including, what they wanted to do in the future, how many kids they wanted, their likes and dislikes, and shared more about their faith with each other. It was such a fun day and they became smitten with each other! To this day, Sarah still hasn't gone back to Saint & Second (LOL).

It was Mother's Day weekend, so there were plans to have a Mother's Day dinner for Sarah's mom. Austin and Sarah love taking walks around the Naples canals, so Austin asked Sarah if she wanted to go for a walk, so they did! On their walk, Sarah was getting increasingly irritated with Austin because he was on his phone and looking around the entire duration of the walk! Right before they left, Austin stopped Sarah and held her hands. Meanwhile, Sarah was distracted by a dog (like always). He told her how much he loved her and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. He got down on one knee, and asked her to marry him! Of course she said YES! They headed to the restaurant for dinner afterward and Sarah was surprised to see Austin's entire family there! They spent the evening surrounded by the ones they love!
