Yes! We have shuttles between downtown Portsmouth and Wentworth by the Sea Country Club. Traveling TO the Wedding: For those of you who expressed interest in transportation on your RSVP, we've assigned you to specific shuttles heading to the venue since space is limited. Shuttle assignments will be sent by email the week of the wedding. The shuttle schedule is as follows: Shuttle 1: Pickup at the AC Hotel: 1:40-1:45pm Shuttle 2: Pickup at the AC Hotel: 2:20-2:25pm Please note that the AC Hotel is a 5-min walk from the other central, downtown Portsmouth hotels (Residence Inn, Sheraton, Hampton Inn). Please allow enough time to walk over and meet the shuttle by its scheduled departure time. If you miss your shuttle, you will need to find an alternative way to get to the venue, as we unfortunately don't have extra seats on either shuttle. Traveling FROM the Wedding: Shuttles are not assigned. Please promptly board at the end of the evening. The shuttle schedule is as follows: First Shuttles: Leave venue at 8:55-9pm, drop off at The Press Room at 9:10pm Second Shuttles: Leave venue at 9:20-9:25pm, drop off at The Press Room at 9:35pm, and at the AC Hotel at 9:40pm Note that all shuttles will go immediately to the Afterparty, and only the second round will make a final stop at the AC Hotel.
The only scheduled events are on Saturday. But, we encourage you to stay the weekend to enjoy Portsmouth and visit with friends/family! For those planning to arrive on Friday: We encourage you to head to the Thirsty Moose Taphouse on Friday night! We plan to swing by around 8:30/9pm and would love to see you there! Info: https://www.thirstymoosetaphouse.com/portsmouth/ Address: 21 Congress Street, Portsmouth, NH 03801
The ceremony and reception are black tie preferred: floor-length dresses or formal separates for women, and tuxedos or dark-colored suits (with ties) for men. For ladies planning on wearing heels: The majority of the venue (including inside the reception tent) is paved, so there should not be any issues with heels sinking into grass!
On the coast of New Hampshire, Portsmouth and Rye have an average temperature in the low 50s to low 70s (°F) in early October. The weather is commonly sunny - days feel warm but temperatures can drop relatively quickly in the evening. Our ceremony will be outdoors on the water so you can expect a light breeze. The reception will be in a Sperry sailcloth tent which will be heated if needed. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held indoors.
"Plus ones" will be included explicitly on invitations. If you have any concerns, please reach out to Maggie or Christian as soon as possible.
We love your children, but please note that this is an adults-only celebration.
Please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony, but feel free to take photos during the rest of the celebration! We only ask that you please be careful not to obstruct the photographers and videographers who will also be capturing the festivities. If you'd like to post photos to social media, please tag them with our wedding hashtag: #CheersToTheGreers
