Hillary and Casey met online in January 2020. They initially connected over looks and senses of humor. As they continued to get to know each other over the phone they realized they also had similar life goals and love for God. Hillary was living in Columbus at the time and Casey in Cleveland. They went on their first date in between the two in Mansfield on February 1st, 2020. They got together almost every weekend after that. Living 135 miles apart was difficult to say the least. Hillary made the move to Cleveland in June 2020. The rest is history.

Casey is a diesel mechanic for a tree removal company and Hillary is a certified pharmacy technician for a long term care pharmacy. Hillary has a dog named Phoebe, who has taken in Casey as her own. She is a Jarkie, which is a mixed breed between Japanese Chin and Yorkshire Terrier. She is 8 years old. She currently enjoys being an only pet.

Hillary was planning a spring photoshoot at a park in Norton, Ohio with a photographer friend the couple had worked with before. She was so busy getting outfits together, and hair and makeup, and trying to gather the dog that Casey's anxious attitude was chalked up to being rushed. The photoshoot was halfway complete when they moved to a narrow, well-trodden walking path for a few last photos. Casey pulled out a velvet gray box from the bag he had brought with him and knelt down on one knee. Hillary was in total shock, this being a proposal opportunity was the last thing from her mind.
