Katie is the friend that every girl dreams of having. I only wish we had become as close as we are today back when we first met in 7th grade. Katie has an inner light that can change your entire day for the better. She laughs at everything (something I wish I could learn how to do) and somehow manages to make you feel like the best version of yourself, even on your worst days. It was the easiest decision while planning my wedding to ask her to be my Maid of Honor. She is my best friend and like my sister. I love you, Katie!!

My little muffin! Granted she isn’t so little anymore… I still can’t believe she is 20!! Where do I start? Kahlia is possibly the sweetest person you will ever meet. Her creativity is something to aspire to and her thoughtfulness continues to amaze me. I can still remember the day I found out she was coming into this world – it was a dream come true! A little girl cousin, right next door! From the first day I met her I loved her like a sister, and to this day I count myself as EXTREMELY lucky to have her in our family. I love you, Kahlia!

Grandfather of the Bride

Known lovingly in our family as "Papa," Parry has been a rock in my life and was the first man to hold my heart completely. When I was little, we were attached at the hip! He introduced me to the best music ('80s & '90s Country!) and would dance me around the living room, he would pop me in the seat on the back of his bicycle and take me all around Greenlake and Seattle. He built me and my cousin, Adrian, a sandbox, a jungle-gym, and then a treehouse. He taught us how to raise chickens, how to fish, and how to appreciate the outdoors. Most of all, he showed me what it looked like to be loved by a great man. The love and devotion he has shown my Grammy every day has shaped what I searched for in a man. He taught me how to recognize a good man. That's how I knew Stephen was THE ONE.

This girl! Jessica is an amazing friend and woman! When I first mentioned that we still needed an officiant, she jumped in and said: "I COULD DO IT!" with so much enthusiasm it warmed my heart! I think she might have been half-joking when she said it, but the more I thought about it, the more I knew it had to be her! I've known this girl since high school and I only wish we had become friends sooner! Jessica has this amazing ability to make you feel like you are the most important person in the room, even when she is surrounded by many great friends. I can't wait for you to marry us, Jess! I love you!!

You would think living in two different states and being almost 5 years apart in age, our friendship would seem unlikely. Lindsay has been a rock for me throughout my life. We have traveled together, adventured together, and grownup together. Lindsay is like the big sister and best friend I never knew I needed. She and I have worked to stay close to each other and I think our relationship has only grown stronger because of that work. I would also like to thank our grandparents, Jan & Walt Spichtig, for encouraging this closeness by flying me down to California every year - not only to encourage my relationship with Lindsay but my entire California family, I am beyond lucky for each and every one of them.
