Matron of Honor
As Christi’s younger sister, I have looked up to her my entire life. Often times younger siblings are thought of as “tag alongs” who want to do everything their older siblings do. This could not be more true in my case. Being four years younger, I was always interested in what Christi was playing, wearing, and doing. As we got older, some of my favorite times were spent being her sidekick as she learned how to drive a stick shift. Whether we were peeling out of a uphill parking lot, stalling out at stoplights, or driving down long country roads to get cheap gas in S.C., I was just happy to be with her. Christi is the type of person who will sacrifice anything for the people she loves and has so many qualities I admire. It means the world to me that she will be beside me at the altar.
Best Man
I don't even know where to begin. Having Bennet as my brother has been nothing short of amazing. Growing up together was something that I will always cherish. From shooting hoops in the backyard, to playing video games, to belting Surf City at the top of our lungs, to sharing our love of all things sports, and everything in between, I can't imagine a childhood without you in it. And now, seeing you grow into the man that you are today has been so special and I am proud to think that I might have had just the slightest hand in that. Although Bennet is back in the DC area, I value and appreciate how we instantaneously pick up were we left off each time that we get back together. Thank you for taking on the role of Best Man and handling it perfectly.
Bridesmaid
Meagan and I met in 6th grade at Cramerton Middle School and quickly became best friends. From the start of our friendship I knew that Meagan was a friend who would be in my life for many years to come. Although we have lived on opposite sides of the country for the past 15 years, I have always been able to pick up the phone and call Meagan for advice, support, or a good laugh. From childhood to adulthood, Meagan has been by my side through everything. She has been a constant example of what it means to be a selfless and devoted friend and I can’t imagine my wedding day without her by my side.
Groomsman
Alex is someone who I can depend on for anything at any time. He and I met within weeks of the start of our freshman year at Davidson and became instant friends. It took no time for us to realize that we both felt like we had known each other well before our time in college. He and I have shared all of the highs and lows of college, as well as adult life, together. By the time my wedding day comes, Alex will have just completed his first year of marriage so I know I will be leaning on him for wisdom and guidance on how to handle being a newlywed. My wedding day would not be complete without Alex with me up at the altar.
Bridesmaid
Emily and I met on the elevator of our freshman dorm at Appalachian. I was pretty sick but nonetheless on my way to class across campus where I did have to walk uphill both ways in the snow. Emily and our good friend Margaret struck up a conversation by asking if anyone had ever told me I looked like LC from Laguna Beach. I remember thinking I hope I don’t get sick on the elevator and these girls must be crazy. Turns out they weren’t and have become two of my best friends. Emily is the type of friend you want by your side as you learn to navigate adulthood as she somehow knows the answers to almost anything you could ever need advice on. I can always depend on Emily and I can’t imagine not having her as one of my bridesmaids.
Groomsman
Although Joey is a native of Northern Virginia, he and I did not meet until we both arrived at fall football camp at Davidson. While we were friends during our freshman and sophomore years, our friendship really took off during our junior year when we shared a suite at Duke Hall. I consider Joey one of my most trusted friends and have sought his advice on a number of occasions. He has preceded me on a number of major life events, like buying a house and planning a wedding, so I have been very fortunate to have him here in Charlotte to rely on his guidance and wisdom as I make some rather large decisions. I was thrilled to be a part of his wedding day and am very excited to have him play such a special role in my wedding.
Bridesmaid
Sally Claire and I met in elementary school and bonded over our large bows and a love for her kindergarten teacher (aka my mom). Having grown up a few houses down the street, we had the luxury of walking to and from one another’s houses whenever we wanted to hang out. In high school we would spend hours just driving and singing at the top of our lungs, simply enjoying our freedom and friendship. Sally Claire is the type of friend who can lift you up no matter what’s going on. Her optimistic outlook on life constantly reminds me to count my blessings and to not take a single moment for granted. I’m so thankful to have had Sally Claire in my life all these years and am so happy she will be by my side on my big day!

While I have known Taylor for the better part of my life, I have been fortunate to call him my brother-in-law for the past few years. The funny thing about Taylor is that, despite all of our family’s zealous fandom for the University of Maryland, he is the only person in the immediate Habliston family who actually attended the University. That gives him the unique perspective to help us temper all of our inflated expectations of their sports teams. With a few years of marriage under his belt, I know he is someone who I can go to for advice as I start to navigate married life. Having Taylor up on the altar with me is truly a privilege.
Bridesmaid
Having both grown up in Gastonia and sharing many mutual friends, it was only a matter of time before mine and Allison’s paths would cross. Although Allison and I didn’t attend the same college, those four years is when our friendship really began to grow. With both of us now being teachers we have formed a deeper bond as we support one another through the ups and downs that accompany our job. Over the past eleven years we have spent most mornings talking on the phone on our way to school, reminding each other that we aren’t completely crazy for choosing the profession we did. Allison has been a role model for me when it comes to balancing being a wife, mother, and teacher. Just as it was an honor to be one of her bridesmaids, it is a true honor to have her as one of mine.
Groomsman
Stephen is my longest tenured friend of all the groomsmen, dating back to 3rd Grade at SSSAS. Some of my fondest memories with Stephen revolve around our mutual love for hockey. As elementary and middle school students, he and I would frequent the Purple Puck hockey tournament to cheer on our high school hockey team. That has evolved into our extreme Washington Capitals fandom. Recently, Stephen and his wife Taylor moved to the Raleigh area and I have been thrilled to be able to get to spend more time with them now that they are local. Having Stephen by my side as a groomsman was an absolute must.
Bridesmaid
My friendship with Amanda started on the kickball fields of Tega Cay, SC. While the competition was fierce, the way she welcomed me as a teammate and friend was anything but that. Amanda is the type of friend who will stop at nothing to make sure you feel loved and supported. Over the years I’ve received countless calls, texts and cards because she just wanted to let me know how much she valued our friendship. The times I spend with Amanda and the conversations we have always leave me with a full heart and a feeling of gratitude. Amanda has become such an important friend in my life and I am so happy she will be by my side at the altar.
Groomsman
"Jon Osterhout - Chicago, Illinois." That is how Hoot first introduced himself to me as we were waiting in line to get fitted for our football pads freshman year at Davidson. Although he was quite imposing as a 6' 4" offensive lineman, I couldn't help but chuckle as it is obvious that he just finished watching Miracle On Ice and was channeling his inner Mike Eruzione. Although he swears that never happened, that moment is ingrained in my mind. Since that day, Hoot and I have become great friends, bonding over hockey, golf, our shared love for Macklemore, EDM music, and much more. He is truly a loyal friend and I am honored that he will be at the altar with me on the big day.
Bridesmaid
I met Caroline during my first trip to Chazzo’s hometown of Alexandria, VA. I hadn’t even known her a couple hours and she had already surprised me with a birthday present. From the start she embraced me and made me feel welcomed, despite the fact that I was soon to become the next Caroline Habliston. True to her thoughtful nature, she has since showered me with Caroline Habliston notepads, gift cards and pencils from her elementary days. Knowing how much Chazzo loves and looks up to Caroline makes me that much more excited to get to know her even better. The original Caroline Habliston shoes will be hard to fill but it’s something I’m looking forward to taking on.
Groomsman
Our friendship began during our freshman year at Davidson on the vaunted First Belk Hall. Being from the DMV, Greg and I quickly bonded over all things Northern Virginia. Greg is someone who is always there to talk to, serve as a sounding board, and provide thoughtful and valuable insight when needed. He is also someone who, at 2 bills, is always willing to take the body, because of anticipation. Although he moved to New York after Davidson, he is one that I constantly stay in contact with and is generous enough with his time to make routine visits to Charlotte. Without a doubt, I am beyond thrilled to have Greg as a groomsman for my big day.
Bridesmaid
Maggie and I met in 2nd grade when we were both receiving our 1st Communion. Years later, she would reveal to me that she had disliked me at the time because (in her words), “You always knew all the answers in Sunday School.” Luckily we were able to get past our differences and start an amazing friendship. After college we decided to move to Charlotte together where we lived in Apartment “G Unit” for four years. From exploring Charlotte to taking road trips, going to concerts, and everything in between...we became inseparable. I’ll never be able to put into words how thankful I am for our friendship and for all the love and support she has shown me over the years. It was a privilege to be one of her bridesmaids and I am so very grateful she will be by my side on my wedding day!
Groomsman
As I prepared to meet Bobby for the first time, after only dating Caroline for a few weeks, I peppered her with questions about Bobby to make sure that I had something to talk with him about to avoid being awkward. I soon found out that not only was Bobby a huge sports fan (he has his own radio show on ESPN Charlotte), but he is also a huge Washington Capitals fan. Sharing our passion for sports, and especially the Caps, made talking to him and getting to know him much easier. During the Caps Stanley Cup run in 2018, Bobby and I huddled together at not one, but two family weddings to watch the playoff game on our phone as the reception was going on around us. Having Bobby as a groomsman means the world to me and I am very grateful to have him up at the altar with me.
Bridesmaid
Casey and I met in college through our sorority, Kappa Delta. Right from the start I knew that Casey was one of the sweetest most caring people and someone I genuinely wanted to get to know better. After college we both decided to live in Charlotte where our friendship has continued to grow. It has been such a joy to watch her become a mom to three amazing boys and raise them with the love and compassion she shows everyone in her life. Whether we’re sharing stories and a bottle of wine, or playing LEGO’s and building forts with the boys, time spent with her is always special. It was an honor to stand beside her on her wedding day and I’m thrilled she will be by my side on my big day!
Groomsman
Robert, Rob, Schick, HaramBert, Bert, etc... Robert and I were both kickers on the Davidson College football team. Despite being each other's constant competition for four years, I admire the fact that he and I never once let that affect our friendship. Robert is a fiercely loyal friend who I always know that I can count on. He is also one that never turns down a good time, especially if tequila is involved. After college, our friendship has grown even stronger and I am blessed to have someone like Robert here in Charlotte to hang out with and grow into our adult lives together. If you told me the summer before I started college that Robert, my soon to be competition throughout college, would be in my wedding one day, I would say that you were crazy. Boy would I have been wrong.
Junior Groomsman
Langdon is my soon to be nephew and I am looking forward to being able to call myself his uncle. He reminds me a lot of myself when I was his age, wanting to play every sport possible at every waking minute, inevitably pushing our parents to the max to get us from practice to game, and back again. I have cherished the time that we have been able to spend together so far and I can't wait to see him grow up. For those who would like some advice, I would suggest getting his autograph at the reception, as he is on the fast track to become the first simultaneous MLB baseball player and NHL hockey player. Thank you, Langdon, for being the best looking groomsman up on the altar with me!
