How we met

July, 2018

Her Story: As a new person working at a 911 center I had a lot of questions. luckily, Chaz sat behind me and was my go-to guy for all my curiosity on the job. Overtime, I thought to myself, "He is cute, and he's super kind to me.. maybe I have a crush?" Eventually I sought out to ask him more questions about himself, to which he barely responded half the time and I just assumed he wasn't interested. Eventually one of our coworkers whom I had basically no interaction with sent me a message and asked if I liked country music, to which I just simply replied with "not at all", later to find out Chaz had been wanting to buy tickets to a popular country artist in town for a date with me. Then shortly after another coworker of mine started asking me if I was single, she covered up her curiosity by saying, "You should date my brother", again.. later to find out she meant her work brother.. Chaz! She winked at him after finishing that conversation as he sat directly next to me that day. Eventually he ended up asking for my phone number once I indicated that Facebook stalking and messaging online just wasn’t the same as talking on the phone. After our first date the rest was history. His Story: The story of how my life was forever changed. It began on a normal work day when I first saw her. It was like she was radiating light and time seized to exist. She was (and still is) the most beautiful person I have ever seen. Several weeks went by before one day she showed up on my shift again. Now both of us working the same shift began casual work conversation, then started chatting via a work chat. Eventually I asked for her phone number and we started talking outside of work and scheduled our first date. We met in late July, had our first date on August 5th 2018. It was apparent from the beginning that I wanted a future with this girl. We started officially dating on August 13th 2018 and by the end of August I told my mom that she would be the girl I would marry.

The Proposal

June 6th, 2019

On June 6th, my 28th birthday. Mallory agreed to hang out for the entirety of the day. We started our day by getting breakfast at Baker's Square which included a free piece of pie. Mallory even hand fed me the pie in the truck on our drive to our next destination, Taylor Falls. At Taylor Falls we rented kayaks and Kayaked along the St Croix river for a few miles. That afternoon we dressed up for what Mallory believed would just be my birthday dinner. I had tried keeping the location of the dinner a surprise, but Mallory is incredibly smart and was able to figure out where we were going. The location was Mallory's Rooftop Restaurant in Hudson, Wisconsin. On our first date we had gone to a restaurant next door and noticed Mallory's Restaurant and discussed going back there sometime but had yet to actually go back. On our first date after eating dinner we had walked along the pier to the beach and talked, was our first time holding hands. It feels like from the moment I started getting ready up until I actually proposed was just blackout. I was so nervous and trying to remember what I would say. After dinner we walked along the pier watching the sunset. I started discussing the history of Mallory and my relationship over the 10 month period leading up til that moment. I told Mallory that she had become my best friend and the love of my life and then asked if she would become my wife, while getting down on one knee and asking her to marry me. She was shocked and asked if I was serious at first before exclaiming yes! It was a moment I will never forget for the rest of my life!
