I met Bowen at a game night at Steakhouse in late August playing Egyptian rat slap. The two of us were caught in a stale mate because I was faster but he kept memorizing groups of cards and anticipating them... until Daniel Hicks jumped in and put us both to shame. My first impression of Bo that night was that he was smart and had a really cute smile. A couple weeks later he showed up to a swing dance, and that was pretty much all it took. I couldn't believe how much fun it was to be spun around by him. Every interaction after that just convinced me more that would be so great together. I assumed with the amount of fun we were having together he felt the same and would soon ask me out. Imagine my surprise in October when he took me on a walk specifically to communicate this would not be happening anytime soon. "Won't date anyone freshman year.." and so on. So, even though I knew this was total waste, I just had to respect it and get over it. As soon as I had, he was surprising me again by asking me on a date! Strange approach, but it worked.
I met Chaylie right at the start of freshman year. Off the bat, I noticed her long curly hair, and her great attitude. So of course I went out of my way to spend time with my new friend Chaylie. I would say hi at church, I made comments about her hair (who wouldn't!?), and I guess I accidentally paid too much attention to her. And so, I took my new crush on a walk to tell her that my big brother told me not to date anybody my first year of college. A couple months later Jaden revoked his advice. At first I was unsure, but when he and Xavier offered me their cars for a first date I went for it. Now we're getting married. It worked.
